TexTalk MD combines powerful medical forms and medical data management features with continuous speech recognition to facilitate the creation of full-featured, integrated electronic medical records.

TexTalk MD utilizes forms that merge information form the database and user input via microphone, keyboard, or mouse. This creates the Patient Record. A copy of the Patient Record is automatically stored in the computer as a permanent electronic record.

TexTalk MD allows physicians and other health care providers to dictate reports - much as they have in the past - directly into the computer, thereby eliminating the need for transcription. By using forms and macros, the amount of time to construct a medical record is further reduced. In addition, support personnel can easily import patient demographics and history data from your practice management software, streamlining the flow of information.

TexTalk MD Forms
The use of the "Form" distinguishes TexTalk MD from word processor applications. Both structure and content are repeated over and over in clinical documentation. The use of Forms in TexTalk MD assures that this constant information needs to be entered only once, while more valuable information can be selected, inserted, or dictated as the need arises.

These Forms can be modified to fit your specific needs. All the elements of the Form contain text that can be deleted, modified, moved, and formatted as in any word processor document.

You can also use your keyboard or mouse to position the cursor anywhere you want inside your Form and then dictate your notes. Your voice, keyboard, and mouse (or any combination of the three) can be used at any time to perform any operation that you need. For most users, your voice will be the quickest and easiest way to move around and manipulate your Form.

Integration with Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional or Medical
TexTalk MD is seamlessly integrated with the NaturallySpeaking voice recognition engine. TexTalk MD incorporates all the voice commands available for NaturallySpeaking. In addition, users can add or delete their own voice commands. Users should get familiar first with the NaturallySpeaking capabilities. Users already familiar with NaturallySpeaking will find TexTalk MD very easy and intuitive.

WinFax Pro Option
TexTalk MD provides the capability to fax the current document utilizing WinFax Pro. TexTalk MD incorporates voice commands in sending faxes. In addition, users can add or delete their own voice commands. Users should get familiar first with the capabilities of WinFax Pro. Users already familiar with WinFax Pro will find TexTalk MD very easy and intuitive.

System Requirements

If you have purchased your computer system without assuring that it is capable of good performance in speech recognition, please compare your computer specifications with the following list. If any parts are inferior to the listed configuration, it is possible that TexTalk MD will not perform to your satisfaction. Also note that these are minimum system requirements. A faster processor and/or more RAM will mean greater speed and accuracy.

• Microsoft Windows 98/NT 4.0 (SP6 or better)/Me/XP/2000

• Sound Blaster or equivalent sound card supporting 16-bit recording

• Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or higher

• CD-ROM (required for installation)

• Approved noise-canceling headset microphone

• Speakers (required for playback of recorded speech/text-to-speech features)

• Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional

• For better performance in combination with other applications running on your system, and Intel Pentium 4/1.2 GHz processor or faster and 512 RAM is recommended.
